FALL TRAIL RUNNING CLINIC

Join Sole Pursuit Running and Runners Sole for an eight-week Fall Trail Running Clinic designed for intermediate to experienced trail runners who want to keep exploring, build strength and finish the season with a fun new challenge.

THURSDAYS, SEPTEMBER 24 - NOVEMBER 12, 2026

Note: Registration opens August 31st

RUN STRONGER THIS FALL

Each week will include a coached trail run of approximately one hour. We’ll explore a variety of Kamloops trails while working on the skills, strength and endurance that will help you become a more capable and confident trail runner.

Participants will also have the option to join longer Saturday trail runs throughout the clinic. Distance, location and expected run time will be shared each week, with some outings lasting up to two hours or longer.

WE ARE ADDING A LITTLE STRENGTH TO THE MIX

Trail running takes more than time on the trails. That’s why this clinic will also include a 10-session pass to Diverse Training Centre.

Participants will be encouraged to add a minimum of 1 strength-training session to their weekly routine alongside the coached trail runs. The Diverse Training Centre pass will be included in the clinic fee, giving you the opportunity to build strength, improve durability and experience how consistent gym training can support your running.

Both Clint and Dino are active members of Diverse Training Centre and will let you know when they plan to be there if you want to see a familiar face, but we are sure you will be welcomed and supported by Brad and his crew at any of the 20+ classes available each week.

FINISH WITH A LITTLE FRIENDLY COMPETITION

We’re wrapping up the clinic with a mini enduro event! Participants will alternate between a short, self-paced strength circuit and a short trail loop through Kenna Cartwright Park, completing as many rounds as they are able within the three-hour window.

This fun final challenge will give participants a chance to put their fall training to work, celebrate eight weeks together on the trails and in the gym. We promise you will finish the clinic with plenty of trail-running energy.

Run Group Coach

Clint Sword

Clint brings a steady, experience-driven approach to coaching within the Fall 82-Week Clinic. A UESCA certified ultrarunning coach, his connection to trail running grew from exploring local trails with like-minded runners and naturally evolved into leading consistent group runs, destination trail weekends, and race-focused training experiences both locally and internationally.

His background includes extensive support of trail events through aid station leadership, course flagging, trail maintenance, and start and finish setup. These behind-the-scenes roles have shaped a practical, runner-first coaching philosophy grounded in real-world trail experience.

Clint leads the run group with a focus on building confidence across varied terrain, particularly hills and technical trails. His coaching emphasizes steady pacing, efficient movement, and approachable strategies that help athletes better understand their capabilities while developing resilience and confidence on the trail.

Run Group Coach

Dino Aracki

Dino began trail running in 2008 after completing a couch-to-5K program, starting his journey at nearly 240 lbs. As his fitness improved, so did his passion for the sport. Time in nature and the personal challenge of competing against himself continue to fuel his commitment to trail running.

He has been a certified coach for three years and has coached for many years across road, trail, and marathon clinics. As one of four UESCA certified coaches on the team—and one of two Ultra Endurance certified coaches—Dino brings experience and perspective across a wide range of distances and abilities.

Dino is most focused on mindset. He believes confidence builds skills, and skills build enjoyment. He is looking forward to coaching runners into the dark this season, a first for these trail clinics. His coaching style is encouraging and growth-oriented, centered on progress over perfection and helping athletes aim for better while still having fun.

“Run when you can, walk when you have to.”

CHALLENGE & EXPECTATIONS
This clinic is expected to be as challenging as our past trail clinics. We are upping the ante with the added strength training portion and endurance event at the end. The night running is an added challenge - are you up for it?

Participants should expect to:

  • Be pushed (appropriately) outside their comfort zone

  • Work on hills, technical terrain, and sustained efforts

  • Feel stronger and more capable as the weeks progress

While all pacing is effort-based and inclusive, the goal of this clinic is to build strength, resilience, and confidence — and to help you set bigger trail goals for yourself.

If you’re excited by the idea of being challenged in a supportive environment, you’re in the right place.

T.W.

The first day, I hung back a level and joined the mixed run/hike group.  The trail leader encouraged me to move up to the run group the following week, and despite being the slowest, I felt like I could do it. The other runners were encouraging and it was motivating to try my best to keep up.

Clint and Dino were always positive, and added fuel to my efforts in improving my trail running. Keeping up with regular run practice paid off.  I’m stronger, faster, and more confident.  I even signed up for my first trail relay race last year.   Best of all, it’s still FUN!

Sam K.

This clinic was wonderful in teaching me tips and techniques on how to run in the trail systems, with emphasis on enjoying it and making it more of a routine in my running terrain.

I was introduced to five new trail areas in town to practice running in and get familiar with. A great bonus was that I improved my technique and time on the course we were shown halfway and in the final session of the clinic!

I will be back for the 2026 offering! Thank you Clint, Paula, Nicole and Dino.
